Heading into Memorial Day Weekend, I’m sure some of you will be needing some pool drinks; bring on the Mai Tai! This is another one of those cocktails that has been humiliated over the years with recipes that are nothing like the original. This cocktail is meant to show off the rum you make it with (not the juice), so make sure to use good quality rums!
Mai Tai:
.75oz lime
.5oz Cointreau
.5oz orgeat
1oz light rum
1oz Bacardi 10

Make crushed ice (see video). Add ice, lime, Cointreau, orgeat, and light rum to shaker and shake hard. Dump into rocks glass. Float dark rum. Garnish with (empty) lime half and mint sprig.
